When I was preparing for my trip to Saudi Arabia, I could not find enough information about the railway and its rules. To help future travellers out, I wrote this.
You enter the railway station on ground level. A few guards stand at the entrance, behind them a
line of ports you enter by scanning your ticket QR code. You walk through and take the moving staircase to a floor
higher. Guards check your ticket there again.
You are now at the waiting area. You can sit and pray and go to the toilet and eat.
When the train is ready to be entered, you take another moving staircase downstairs to the train. That's it.
The guards that stood at the beginning are supposed to intercept people who carry more than 1 suitcase, or when a suitcase
is too large. They however do not stop and measure every suitcase. So no, you do not need to adhere to the 65cm. I myself had a 71cm
(height) suitcase and they didn't stop me.
So as long as you take a suitcase that doesn't look comically large, you'll be fine.
You can print it out or show it on your phone, both is fine.
Once you are at the rest area, you do not need to stress about the "arrive 30mins before". So the most important thing is to just arrive at the rest area asap.
You have toilets, wudu spaces and a prayer space upstairs at the rest area.
You can board 30 minutes before departure.
