or anyone, for that matter.
I had a revelation recently. I was browsing the internet, looking for interviews of Jeff Buckley and River Phoenix.
I stumbled upon this site, which had a masterlist of all the interviews with River.
Fascinated, I clicked and read through a few. I was overcome by a feeling of love and awe. River was such a special, extraordinary
human being. So.. Raw, and human. I realised I would have never known this side of him if it werent for these interviews.
Then I realised this wasn't necessarily only applicable to River. Human beings in general are fascinating, interesting. We all carry
a sort of magic in us. There are so many stories unheard, so many beautiful people undiscovered. It is insane to imagine how any
person you know can have their own creative view on things.
I then craved to know. I craved to ask and discover. What goes on in people's mind? What is their view on things?
The reason I titled this entry the way I did, is because I truly believe that the relationship you have with your friend is a one-of-a-kind,
and absolutely worth documenting. Nobody knows them the way you do and nobody will see them the way you see them. That's the beauty
of interviewing. Both the asker and the answerer are unique and result in unique conversations.
Their views matter. Everyone is special. Immortalise them. Honour them. How beautiful is it to have their own special
bundle of humanity written down forever?
I have to conclude this pseudo-manifesto with a resolution. I want to start interviewing people. Everyone and anyone. With consent,
I will post them (anonymously if wanted) on this blog. I will do my best to honour humanity in my own way.
